Continuing the fruitful relationship between IMBA Trail Solutions and Ptrails, our firm was hired to construct a one mile, two-way connector between the end of Upper Whistlepunk Trail and the existing road climb.  Users requested this trail so that they could session Whistlepunk without descending the entirety of the hill to the base trailhead. The new section, named GUTROBBER, traversed an upper bowl of the mountain, through stands of second growth Doug Fir and Old growth Spruce and Fir nearing 500 years old.

Our new sections provides a combination of sinuous contour flow with small sections of bike optimized grade reversals and insloping.  At the direction of the local BLM offices, and staff at Team DIRT, we worked to created a trail that highlights the backcountry nature of Alsea Falls, while still providing ample options to get your tires off the ground, or up your heart rate with some technical rock.
