Educating trail users, crew members, land owners and the general public about sustainable trails is very important. We combine our real world trail experience and outdoor education expertise to offer valuable training and trail education sessions. We have provided sessions for Alaska State Parks, Valley Mountain Bikers and Hikers, Singletrack Advocates,
Anchorage Park Foundation, Juneau Freewheelers, and many more organizations.
Training sessions can be as short as 4-hour classroom sessions to week long class/field training courses. We cover standard Trails 101, crew leadership, tool use, and trail maintenance, but also offer technical courses on subjects such as turns, bike features and mechanized construction.
We also offer course presentations on:
- Trail Hardening for Mountain Biking
- Sustainable Trails in Urban Environs
- Mechanized Trail Construction
- Berms and Turns
Owner/Operator Ed Kessler is an Alaska-Trails training instructors and has created curriculum for Alaska-Trail’s training courses.
